Hospice Care & Medical Bills for Christa Graffius
Donazione protetta
Just weeks after receiving a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, Christa Graffius experienced a series of strokes that left her disoriented and confused, unable to care for herself, and too frail for radiation and chemotherapy treatment. On the advice of her doctors, we are in the process of moving her into hospice care. Where we all once believed Christa would have 3-5 more years with us, she now only has 6 months. Her family and friends are devastated and doing everything we can to make sure these final days are as comfortable and loving as possible for Christa.
While our family deals with the emotional burden of this situation, we're also dealing with an immense financial burden. Christa's health insurance pays for a small portion of the 24/7 long-term care and hospice care she needs. She has been denied Medicaid. While we work our way through the system, the majority of Christa's hospice and hospital costs are being paid privately, out-of-pocket. Our family is pulling together to provide as much financial assistance as possible, but we need help.
Would you please consider donating as you're able to help Christa enjoy the best quality of life possible for the limited time she has with us?
This fundraiser was organized by her husband, Bob Graffius; mother Sheila Hargreaves; brothers, Rick and Michael Hargreaves; sister-in-law, Deb Graffius; and stepchildren, Wes and Amanda Graffius.
