Bringing Hope to Khumelela: July 3–20, 2025
An outreach mission by volunteers from Avondale University Campus & Church.
This July, a passionate team of volunteers from Avondale University will travel to the Khumelela Community Centre in Bushbuck Ridge, Mpumalanga, South Africa, with a mission to serve, build, and uplift. From July 3rd to the 20th, we will be working alongside the local community to construct a kitchen and food service room—a vital facility that will provide a daily meal to orphans and elderly individuals who currently receive no government support.
Our outreach doesn't stop there. During our time in Khumelela, we will also:
Run a Kids Club, offering fun, learning, and love to local children.
Provide Teacher Education Training to equip and encourage local educators.
Assist primary health care workers, helping expand access to basic medical care.
Every volunteer is covering their own travel and personal expenses, which means that 100% of all donations will go directly to the building project—funding materials, tools, and essential supplies needed to complete the kitchen and food service room.
This mission is about more than just bricks and mortar—it’s about restoring dignity, building community, and bringing lasting hope.
We invite you to be part of this mission through your prayers, encouragement, and donations. Every contribution, big or small, helps make a lasting difference.
Thank you for standing with Khumelela.
