By now, I'm sure everyone is aware of the devastion that Hurricane Harvey and the accompanying floods brought to Texas and Louisiana. My 10 and 11 year old daughters wanted to aid in some way. I decided to help them by appealing to my fellow welders and blue collar worker friends. I've been a Union Steelworker in Indiana for 18 years and am very active in the welding and fabricating community on Instagram.

One of my welder friends, AJ Bosarge, is also a volunteer firefighter in Dickinson, Texas, an area hit particularly hard by flooding. In fact the nursing home photo, perhaps one of the most iconic images from the first days of flooding was from Dickinson (see image below). All money and/or supplies raised in this campaign will be issued to the Dickinson Volunteer Fire Department to be distributed directly to those in need in the community.

We want to help those affected by these devastating floods. Your contribution will go directly to the community to be distributed by the Dickinson Volunteer Fire Department to those in need. Donations of food, bottled water, clothing, diapers, pet supplies, and personal hygiene items are in great demand and would also be appreciated.

My daughters will be doing some old fashioned door to door fundraising, while I will be using social media to spread awareness of our cause. Receipts and photos will be posted for verification. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please consider a small cash donation or send a care package directly to:
