Our family is devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of our father, Craig Budd Sr., known to many as “Santo.”
On the night of August 28, 2026, our dad unexpectedly lost his life after being struck by a vehicle. Nothing could have prepared us for this loss or for having to say goodbye to someone who meant so much to our family, those who knew and loved him, and the community he impacted.
Our dad wore many hats throughout his life. He was a loving and devoted father to his two children, Grandpa to four granddaughters, a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, best friend, barber, business owner, musician, youth mentor, and beloved member of his community.
Many knew him through his barbershop, Major League Barbers in Montgomery Village, where he became a familiar and cherished presence in the community. Others knew him as “Santo,” for his love of go-go music and affiliation with High Potential Band. He also poured into young people as a mentor, using his experiences and the lessons life taught him to help guide others.
No matter how you knew Craig, chances are you have a story about him and carry a piece of his wisdom he so freely shared.
As we navigate the unimaginable grief of losing our dad, we are also faced with making the arrangements to lay him to rest. More than anything, we want to give him a beautiful homegoing that reflects who he was, the life he lived, the people he loved, and the community he impacted.
We are asking our family, friends, community, and everyone whose life our dad touched to help us make that possible. Contributions will help with his funeral and burial expenses, memorial arrangements, and other unexpected costs associated with laying him to rest.
Any amount helps, and no contribution is too small. If you aren’t able to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser, sharing your memories of our dad, and keeping our family in your prayers means just as much to us.
The outpouring of love already shown to our dad and our family is a testament to the lives he touched. We are incredibly grateful for every donation, share, prayer, message, and act of support.
Thank you for helping us give our dad the beautiful homegoing he deserves.
With much love and sincere gratitude,
His children,
ShaVonté Budd & Craig “CJ” Budd Jr.
