Honoring Markham: Supporting His Family and Legacy

Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Markham Maes, a beloved husband, father, artist, and friend to so many in our Denver community. Markham’s incredible talent as an artist, muralist, curator, and screen-printer brought joy and inspiration to all who experienced his whimsical creations. Beyond his artistic talent, he was a devoted father to Zae, Lilly, Jonah, and Ezra—a present, loving, and selfless dad who poured his heart into his family. His infectious smile and warm laughter had a way of making everyone feel at home. Markham’s wife, Shantell, and his four children are navigating unimaginable grief while adjusting to life without his steady love and support.

We’re asking for your help to ease their financial burdens during this time, allowing them the space to heal and honor his legacy. Any contribution, no matter how small, will provide much-needed support to their beautiful family as they rebuild their lives.

In addition, we are planning a Celebration of Life at the beginning of January (date & details to follow) to honor Markham’s memory and showcase his remarkable art. We invite all of Denver to come together, celebrate his life, and pay tribute to the incredible impact he had on our community. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us honor a man who meant so much to so many.
