It is with heartbreaking sadness that we share the tragic passing of 17-year-old Jama Moalim from the City Heights community. Jama, an American Somali high school student, was reported missing after not returning home—something completely out of character for him. On December 4th, his family received the devastating news that Jama was found deceased.

Jama was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose life was taken far too soon. His family is overwhelmed with grief as they try to process this unimaginable loss.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover Jama’s funeral and burial expenses, as well as to support his family during this difficult time. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will help ease the financial burden as they grieve and come together to honor his memory.
