Betty Clendenen Norwood of Turlock, CA, passed away at 77 on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the presence of her family.

Betty was born in Tulare, CA on August 6, 1947 to Joseph Woodard Clendenen and Reaber Gladys [Turner] Clendenen. She was the 7th child of 8 children. They lived in Pixley, CA until the passing of Betty’s father.

When Betty was three years old, Reaber Gladys moved the family – she and her eight children – to Turlock, CA.

Betty attended Hawthorne and Osborn Elementary Schools and Wakefield Middle School. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1965 and began attending Beautician School completing her certification to become a hair dresser.

Betty worked at Inges Hair Salon beginning her sophomore year. She then worked at Tower Salon and Marianne’s Salon

She then met and married her husband Jerry Norwood on November 29, 1969 and they lived in New Jersey briefly before Jerry was ordered to report to Vietnam. Betty then moved back to Turlock while Jerry completed his military service. They remained in Turlock and raised their family.

Betty was a homemaker and took her sons to sports activities when they were young.

Betty worked as a Home Interior Salesperson after her children grew up. She also worked tirelessly to help others with various health product distributions and as a Young Living Essential Oils Distributor, sharing knowledge she learned on her own health journey.

Betty was talented in crafting and had a sales contract with Pier 39 Christmas Store to distribute her unique Christmas ornaments and Music Boxes.

Betty fought to sustain her body as her health difficulties weighed heavier and heavier on her body over her 50 year health journey. She longed to see the Lord and spoke often of her thankfulness for salvation and dedication to Jesus Christ as her savior. Her wonderful sense of humor and kindness will be missed by her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Brandon Norwood and Joshua Norwood, her grandchildren
Brandon (Brad) Norwood
Anthony Cardona (great grandchildren; Anthony Jr, Vanity,

Georgina & Hector Ceras (great grandchildren; Elizabeth & Richard Gillis) (Great great grandchildren Amelia & Matthew)
and siblings Paul Clendenen and Diane Winter.
