Thank you again for giving so generously and we have been able to send off nearly £1000 already. Please help us reach the rest to complete the house and know that both Kanchuna and Arjun will be safe and secure in their new home.
Thank you so much to all who have given so generously to the campaign. We are short of £250 to enable us to send the money needed to get the roof completed. Be great if we can send this off soon to see at least the final structure. We will send the photos to show this phase once finished. I have added another photo with Kanchuna and Arjun discussing the current work with Ray Miller and Beth the Manager of Jacobs well. This work has now come to a halt as our initial fund-raising campaign was not realistic. Please help us to get pass this nest step.

Kanchuna has been one of the girls working at Jacobswell in India. Late last year she and her husband Arjun were made homeless and had to move into a one-bedroom apartment with his mother. As a result, Brenda organized a crowd funding to help them build an apartment on the third floor of her grandmother’s home. We raised £1500 and this has been well used to build the apartment to the roof level, as we witnessed during a visit with Brenda in March.
There is still much to do to put on the roof, electrics and water supply as well as a large window for the lounge and a staircase up to the flat roof, before the summer monsoon season begins. A conservative estimate to do this would be around £2,500 to make the apartment habitable.
One of the highlights of our visit was to see the sparkle in Kanchuna's eyes as she showed us around her future home. This is a lovely young couple who were childhood sweethearts. Will you help us to transform their living situation by making a gift to help complete the work we have begun with them?

Hi my name is Brenda Sheil and I been working in India and Nepal, with women from very poor and vulnerable backgrounds for over 20 years. FWH Creations is the Charity that provides the funding for education and training opportunities. We also recognise the importance of safe and affordable housing and are hoping to raise enough money for Arjun and Kanchuna to finish the building work on their new home. Arjun had taken a loan to help pay the rent but fell behind on the payments. The loan shark beat him up twice and so his brother-in-law said he could build a home on top of his house. We raised £1600 on a previous GFM but realised it was not enough after a recent visit to Bangalore.
The fund we now raise will complete all the remaining structural work and roof.
