Highland Vista Pool "Stay Beautiful" Fundraiser
Donation protected
The Highland Vista Pool is a volunteer-run community pool located in the charming, family-friendly midtown neighborhood of Highland Vista, and is one of the last remaining 1950's-style neighborhood pools in Tucson. Please consider gifting to this charming mid-century, neighborhood pool today!
Donor Match! We are extremely fortunate to have 2 anonymous Donors, who have offered a Dollar-for-Dollar match on all donations up to a total of $4,500. Together with your help, we will raise the $9,000 needed for repairs and operations that will make the summer pool season amazing for our neighborhood and community Swim Team.
Background: The Pool has suffered significant operating loss since March 2020, when the impact of COVID resulted in loss of income from our resident swim team (Go Wahoos!) and a 25% decline in pool memberships. The Highland Vista Neighborhood Association (HVNA) had set aside $9,000 for pool repairs, which includes a replacement Ramada, however this money has been depleted in order to pay operating costs for the past year.
The first $4,500 of donations will be used for pool operations in 2021, to ensure that pool and grounds will be available for members and our swim team through at least September 30th. If at least 130 households purchase a membership, these will be released for other goals.
Monies raised over $4,500 / Other Goals:
The first $5,000 will be used for a complete replacement of the North Ramada with a new wooden structure. This includes removing and replacing the existing asphalt shingling, repairing roof decking and replacing rotten wooden beams.
Additional funds will be used for one or more of the following, determined by the funds available and input of members:
- $2,100 Improve the BBQ area at the South East corner of the facility. This includes new iron grilling grates, point work on the brick and a shade sail over the brick patio.
- $500 Rehabilitate Water Fountain area.
- $8,000 Rehabilitate the East Ramada.
- $60,000 Replacement of the North Ramada with a solar electric generating shade structure.
* The goal amounts reflect current bids from contractors and/or general understanding of the costs involved.
This fundraiser is hosted by the Highland Vista Neighborhood Association Board from March 27-May 1, 2021. Thank you for your consideration. Please visit the Highland Vista Website for more info.
Thank you! Michelle James, HVNA Communications
