Let's help Wendy Roderick Mosgrove "Fight Like A Girl" against Breast Cancer!
My gorgeous, witty, and so extremely strong Aunt Wendy was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.
She has this amazing ability to light up a room whenever she is near. She has 3 amazing grandchildren who absolutely adore her and who mean the world to her.
Everyone who meets her, loves her, and there's no wonder why. She is extremely quick witted and funny and quickly becomes everyone's best friend. Her personality truly shines as one of the most caring and loving people you will ever meet.
She was always the fun Aunt growing up and we LOVED staying at her house. Most of the time I would rather hang out with her then I ever did my cousins. She was THAT cool! She always took us to the drive in and I'm pretty sure we would of lived with her if we could of! Her house always smelled like cookies and she had the BEST bathroom as a kid. Surprisingly we always seemed to clog her toilet. Oooopss.
On a serious note, Wendy is one of the strongest women I have ever met. She never wants people to worry about her, while she's worrying about everyone else around her. She needs our help and I'm hoping that we can all gather and help her out so she can save her strength to keep fighting.
When she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast cancer, the tumor was huge. Not only was she hit with breast cancer, it had also metastasized to her uterus, bones, and lymphnodes. She has been hospitalized for kidney infections as well. The hits keep coming.
She has done hormone shots for her bones but she is constant pain.
She has been on chemo pills which has kept the breast cancer from spreading further, but it is $11,000 a month for the pills.
Through all of her treatments, she has pushed through to keep working, against Doctor's orders. It has come to the point where she is no longer able to work and she needs as much help as we can give her. She will also be going in soon to have her uterus removed and will need the time off to heal.
While she is off work, she will have to pay for her own health insurance, along with all of the copays and medical bills on top of her everyday household bills.
If anyone deserves the help, it's her. She is so strong and would do anything she could to help anyone else and I want to be able to help her fight comfortably and not have to be stressed out about money in a time like this.
This is a first for our family in having to deal with cancer and we are open to any advice anyone could give us to help us and Wendy out. If anyone has any suggestions or sites with support to help her out.
