Helping Jess and Mikey rebuild
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Savannah, I’ve made this fundraiser to help my sister Jess and her husband Mikey after a heartbreaking loss.
Yesterday on Friday the 13th at around 5pm, a sudden fire completely burnt down their beloved Lyttelton home that they had lovingly renovated themselves and poured their hearts in to. In just minutes, everything was gone… all they have left are the clothes they were wearing. Jess, a nurse, was at work and only has the scrubs she was wearing.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. All Mikey heard was a loud pop, and moments later, the house was engulfed in flames. He tried desperately to save their pets and was not able to save any belongings or valuables
While we’re incredibly grateful they are safe and their pets made it out, their beloved dog Summit has suffered serious burns and is still at the vet receiving treatment now adding vet bills into their already overwhelming situation. They have lost absolutely everything including a lifetime worth of irreplaceable sentimental items.
Right now, they are starting from scratch. While insurance may eventually help, that process takes time. They need to re-buy all of the essentials; clothing, toiletries, basic household items, pay Summits vet bill and buy all new food and supplies for him and their cat.
Jess and Mikey are the kind of people who would give the shirts off their backs to help someone in need, so let’s show our support for them in their time of need
Any donation, big or small, will mean the world and help them begin to rebuild their lives. Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity. ❤️
Just a heads-up for anyone donating from New Zealand — the fundraiser is set up in AUD
(Australian dollars) because GoFundMe doesn't support NZD at the moment. Your donation will still go through just fine! Your bank will simply convert the amount to NZD at the current exchange rate. Thanks so much for your support it truly means the world to us❤️
