We're The Goodhart Group , a real estate team based in Alexandria, Virginia. Our goal through this fundraiser is to provide meals each week to 100 health care workers at Inova Alexandria Hospital. We too had been brainstorming about a way to help our local businesses as well as health-care providers during the Covid-19 pandemic. After learning about one initiative a Compass team of agents in Brooklyn is running with much success, we decided to kick off a similar campaign in our area. We talked with our friends part of the Inova Foundation at Inova Alexandria Hospital and decided providing meals as well as contributing to the Emergency Preparedness Fund was the best way to help.
After reaching the $18,000, all funds donated after that will be put forward to the Inova Emergency Preparedness Fund. This fund helps ensure that Inova has a ready source of flexible funding to meet the escalating healthcare needs of our community during a crisis, both now and in the future. Today, the fund is helping to cover additional staffing, specialized equipment for the unique needs of COVID-19 patients, increased services for telehealth and homebound patients, and other resources to address the rapidly-changing situation.
Here’s what we’ve done & how it will work.
We’ve set up this go-fund me page where people can donate any amount of money they feel comfortable with towards the cost of meals for front line hospital workers at Inova Alexandria Hospital.
Each week of the “stay at home” order, we will be delivering individually pre-packaged meals to Alexandria Hospital. The hospital is thrilled by this endeavor! Our goal is 100 individually pre-packaged meals that will be delivered on shift change so that two different shifts of health care workers and hospital employees will be fed.
Each week, we will partner with a new local restaurant to deliver our goal of 100 meals. Our mission is pretty simple; help local restaurants while thanking our front line health care workers in the community. The funds each week will go the participating restaurant of the week to pay for the 100 meals.
We love that this mission provides us all with a chance to support the community in which we live, work, and play. It lends a helping hand to our local restaurants who are struggling in these challenging times while also feeding and thanking those on the front-lines of this pandemic.

The way our GoFundMe money process and procedures work
To get our funds to the local restaurants, we will be paying each week from a separate account from our personal and business accounts. Additional funds donated after the $18,000 mark will then be donated from to the Inova Emergency Preparedness Fund.
