Helping a Caregiver to get back on her feet!
Donation protected
My name is Beth and I’m hoping we can help my sister Amy. In addition to being a full time care giver for her disabled veteran husband who is at risk right now for losing a foot, she’s had a bad run of medical issues that have made life difficult to say the least. In the last two months she had two kidney stones that each required lithotripsy. The first one took weeks to get scheduled keeping her in pain while waiting for that procedure, all while still taking her husband,Tim, to medical appointments for PT and wound care. No sooner that she had that first lithotripsy done they scheduled the second lithotripsy but this one went bad quickly. After being home for two days she developed urosepsis from a blocked kidney. After getting her to the closest ER, they transferred her to a bigger facility and by the time they got her there the infection was so bad they had to admit her to ICU. She’s been there 24 hours now and word is that the infection is in her bloodstream so it’s gone from bad to worse. On the financial end she has a high deductible and each kidney stone issue is being hit each with this high deductible causing a insurmountable amount of out of pocket costs, not to mention the prescriptions and whatever is yet to come when she gets out of there. Amy gives so much of herself, taking excellent care of Tim and his medical concerns, she never passes up an opportunity to help an animal is distress and she always puts herself last to help others first. She did this for me when I had a medical crisis that I almost didn’t come back from, so I’m a recipient of her selflessness first hand. So please help me to help get to get back on her feet and not be drowned by the high costs of getting better. Thank you so so so very much!
