Driving Ambulances and Medical Equipment to Ukraine

Aware of the terrible plight of the people of Ukraine and with the keenest of desires to help them, Help2Ukraine Suffolk was set up in 2024 by a group based in Suffolk with help from friends in Yorkshire, to acquire ex NHS ambulances and to drive them out to Ukraine.

This has been a considerable success. Both in 2024 and 2025 we raised enough money to buy 4 ambulances each year and enough to drive them and the medical supplies we took with us, out to Ukraine.

In 2026, this year we have bought yet another 4 ambulances, but still need get them and their crews out to Ukraine. We need to insure them both against accident and breakdown, MOT them, fuel them, fit them out with tools, break down equipment, get them across the Chanel and provide rooms for the crews on the way out and to bring them back.

Help2Ukraine acquires decommissioned ambulances through a trusted medical network and stocks each one with a substantial level of donated medical equipment and supplies.

Fundraising events this year have included a ‘Come and sing Messiah’ and the ‘Southwold Dog Show’, both in aid of our ambulances for Ukraine and these two events have funded the purchase of two ambulances.

When peace finally does come to Ukraine, the need for these vehicles and medical supplies will long remain. This will be in order to manage the movement of the very large numbers of severely wounded and incapacitated personnel which Ukraine is caring for. The clear up and rebuilding operation for the country will be many years in the making. The wounded will long need extra transport and supplies to help the country and its people to stand once again.
