Driving Ambulances and Medical Equipment to Ukraine in 2027

Aware of the terrible plight of the people of Ukraine and with the keenest of desires to help them, Help2Ukraine Suffolk was set up in 2024 by a group based in Suffolk with help from dear friends in Yorkshire, in order to acquire ex NHS ambulances and to drive them out to Ukraine. There they are handed over to the Ukrainian ambulance service in its many forms.

This has been an outstanding success. Both in 2024, 2025 and again in 2026 we have raised enough money to buy 4 ambulances each year and enough to drive them and the medical supplies we took with us to Ukraine and get the drivers back to the UK.

We are now fundraising for our next journey in 2027 and to do so we need to buy them, insure them against both accident and breakdown, MOT them, fuel them and fit them out with necessary tools and break down equipment and get them and their crews across the Channel and provide rooms for the crews on the way out and to bring them back to the UK.

Help2Ukraine acquires decommissioned ambulances through a trusted medical equipment network and we then stock each one with a substantial level of donated medical equipment and supplies. No drug or pharmaceuticals and take out.

Fundraising events have in the past included a ‘Come and sing the Messiah’ , the ‘Southwold Dog Show’, in aid of our ambulances for Ukraine and these two events have funded the purchase of two ambulances. The remaining funding as come from this website and through major donor.

Although a terrible thing to contemplate, when peace finally does come to Ukraine, the need for these vehicles and medical supplies will remain long into the future. The damage made by artillery, drones and missiles to Ukraine's infrastructure is exceptionally serious and will need continuing support for many years to come. These ambulance will be needed in order to manage the movement of the very large numbers of severely wounded and incapacitated personnel which Ukraine is caring for. The clear up and rebuilding operation for the country will be many years in the making and the wounded will long need extra transport and supplies to help the country and its people to stand alone once again.
