Help Workers Affected by Eeva's Closure
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for being here!
As you may have heard, South Kensington's popular bakery and restaurant, Eeva, will have it's last day of service on Sunday November 5th. We, the employees, humbly request support from our community in order to help us through this difficult transitional time. All of us were greatly saddened to learn on October 16th that, due to the departure of our Head Chef, the owners of Eeva had decided to close permanently. While we would like nothing more than to continue to provide excellent bread, bagels, pizzas and more for all of our customers and to continue to give our all to help the business flourish, this decision was made without our input and out of our control.
All money donated will be split evenly between the 14 workers affected by the closure to help sustain us, our families and loved ones while we search for new employment. While we were offered one week's pay as a severance package, the owners of Eeva have refused to pay out our accrued Paid Time Off as of this date (11/2/2023,) and as working class people with many bills to pay and attempting to navigate a difficult job market, we have determined that a single week's pay is sadly inadequate for our needs at this time. Thank you for the taking the time to read this and we are immensely grateful to you for even the smallest amount of support. It was a pleasure to serve you.
Best Wishes,
The Workers of Eeva
