Help Volunteer Firefighters who lost their homes in Harcourt

Four volunteers from the Harcourt CFA lost their homes and a business in the Harcourt fires on Friday 9 January 2026, whilst fighting fires and saving other peoples homes and businesses.

We would like to share with you some more information about the volunteers who have been affected:

Tyrone and Raewyn Rice
  • Tyrone is the volunteer 1st Lieutenant and an ex Captain of the Harcourt Fire Brigade and has been volunteering with the brigade for 48 years.
  • Raewyn is a volunteer firefighter and Communications Officer. Prior to being a firefighter Raewyn was a non-operational member of brigade and trained to be a firefighter as soon as women were allowed. Raewyn has given 25 years of service so far.
  • Their son Nathan is also a member of the brigade and has been a firefighter since he was 16 years old, making it 25 years of service for Nathan thus far. Nathan is also the Brigade's Training Officer.
  • Tyrone and Raewyn lost their home in the fire on Friday 9 January 2026.

Colleen Marchant
  • Colleen is a non-operational volunteer and has been with the Harcourt Fire Brigade for 13 years.
  • Colleen lost her home and two cars in the fire on Friday 9 January 2026.

Stephen Upton
  • Stephen is a volunteer firefighter and has been with the Harcourt Fire Brigade for 10 years.
  • Stephen lost his and his wife's business, Bloom Property Styling, including all their furniture and their beloved Bloom truck in the fire on Friday 9 January 2026.

They have insurance, which will cover some things but not everything.

They need your help to get back on their feet.

**PLEASE NOTE:**

- Funds raised will go directly to these volunteers.

- The funds will be deposited into the account of Jodie Parker, the Taradale CFA Community Safety Coordinator (You may have seen Jodie on Taradale CFA’s social media). Facebook and Instagram.

- The funds are being dealt with this way as if they were to go into CFA Brigade Bank Account the funds would have to stay with the brigade and be utilised by the brigade.

- The funds will be divided evenly between Tyrone, Raewyn, Colleen and Stephen.

- The funds will be direct transferred to the accounts that the volunteers would like them to be deposited into.

This fundraising is expected to run till 9 February 2026.
