Help Vince Heal After Heart Surgery

I'm Jill, a friend of the Scavuzzo family and I offered to set up this GoFundMe to help Vince Scavuzzo and his family as he recovers from surgery.

Vince has been sick off and on since September 2024, which culminated in a trip to the emergency room on December 17, 2024 with a very high fever. After a diagnosis of walking pneumonia and a blood clot in his leg, he and his wife Rachel left with some antibiotics and hope that they finally had answers. Unfortunately, he was called back to the hospital within 18 hours with a severe bacterial infection. It was determined that he was septic and had endocarditis, and that unfortunately his heart was damaged enough from the endocarditis that he would require open heart surgery. After many set backs and a second hospital stay, Vince finally had open heart surgery on January 23, 2025. Miraculously, his mitral valve was able to be repaired instead of replaced, but he still has a long road to recovery ahead. Vince, his wife Rachel, and daughter Ferne are so incredibly grateful (truly overwhelmed with gratitude!) for everyone’s kindness, prayers, care, and generosity over the last few months.

These funds will be used to cover medical bills, offset loss of income (as Vince has been unable to work), provide meals for the Scavuzzo family, and cover any other related expenses. Thank you SO much!
