Help Val Leave An Abusive Living Situation

Donation protected
It's an honest statement to admit that I don't entirely know how to navigate this (both the crowdfunding and the situation).

I've lived in a physically abusive home from the ages of 2 until now in my early twenties. I had been forcefully institutionalized in early 2017 because of this living situation in ways that staff members have communicated to have been wrongfully (and have apologized for). I've spent my late teens depending on friends and chosen family for access to groceries, temporary shelter, and transportation as I was extremely malnourished and living off $20 to $40 dollars a month. I live in a southern state with inadequate mental health services and seeking treatment to heal, manage, and reverse the harm that these experiences have caused me has been like pulling teeth.

I've tried crowdfunding before through a loved one, but unfortunately while those previous instances have been useful in raising enough for certain bills, public transportation, adequate food, and etc, I have not been able to raise enough to get to a point where I can permanently cut ties and ensure my wellbeing. I'm currently working part time at a store, as well as paying for and finishing up my licence in a wellness field. Starting these sentences with I to highlight that throughout this, I've tried my best to be hopeful, sociable, kind, driven and self sufficient and have had to come to the painful realization that no amount of personal self improvement has the power to tangibly save me from these forms of violence. I have to look to community, unlearn the deep shame that comes with that, and offer my own hand in times of need. I'm not asking for anything beyond the right to be alive for just a little while longer.

"We choose our own path. We can make a difference without suffering; we can do meaningful work in a way that works for us and for those we serve. We can enjoy the world and set it straight. We can leave a legacy that embodies our deepest wisdom and greatest gifts instead of one that is burdened with our struggles and despair. "
