Help us Save Alfred Noble Library!

My name is Jeff Dutka and I am a member of the Save Alfred Noble Library committee. Alfred Noble is located on the Southside of Livonia and has been slated for demolition by Livonia Mayor Maureen Brosnan. It was built by world renowned architect Gunnar Birkerts who lived and worked in Southeast Michigan and designed many significant buildings in Michigan and all around the globe.

The Mayor's office has been so far unwilling to consider preservation but thankfully, City Council must vote to approve the demo plan. That gives us an opportunity to convince them to search out alternatives to demolition.

We need to keep raising awareness in the community and let City Council know that local residents want Alfred Noble to be preserved, rehabilitated and respected. Decades of neglect by city officials entrusted with the maintenance led to its closing in October 2019. We feel that the City needs to take responsibility and restore this awesome structure. In order to do that, we need your help!

Our group has self-funded up to this point but to get us to the next level and to be able to sustain our outreach campaign, we need help from the Alfred Noble supporters. Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 to cover printing, advertising and promotional event costs. All purchases will be approved by the committee and we pledge to manage your support responsibly and with transparency.
