HELP US PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

Team UBC Junoon: The dance team that shakes the foundations of the University of British Columbia by being the only competitive Bollywood-fusion Dance Team in Canada. Every year we tirelessly put in our blood, sweat, and tears to successfully clear auditions for Bollywood-fusion dance competitions held in the USA. This year, we successfully cleared auditions and have been chosen to compete at the South Asian Showdown competition in Boston, Massachusetts. Taaza will be held on March 1, 2025. We are fortunate to be one of only 8-10 shortlisted teams out of the 100 teams that auditioned from across North America. We are Canada's only shortlisted team.

Competing in the event is an accomplishment in itself, but raising funds for travel, accommodation, and costumes (essential components of the showcase) is a challenge given that we are college students. As a student-run organisation, we rely on support from the community to fund our activities. We may not be able to attend these competitions if we do not have enough funds, which would be a significant setback for our development as dancers and as a team. We receive little to no funding from our university and need YOUR help to fuel our dreams and achieve new heights!

We require a total of CAD 35,000 to participate in the competitions. Our parents will support us with the majority of the funds. I aim to raise the remaining $12,000 through this campaign. This includes travel, accommodation, costume, and props costs for all our team members.

I humbly ask that you lend a hand in this journey of bringing the heat and leaving these competitions in the dust (metaphorically speaking, of course).
