It is with an aching heart that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our mother Josefina Alvarez, who passed away due to complications from kidney cancer. She was our rock, our safety net, and the person who held the family together. Losing her has left a hole in our life that words can’t fully describe.

She was a fiercely loving mother who devoted her life to family while also serving as primary caregiver of her four grandchildren whom depended on her every day. With her passing, our world changed overnight. I, Edward Alvarez Cortes am now stepping into the role she carried with so much strength, becoming the sole provider and source of stability for these children while still trying to navigate this unimaginable loss.

Alongside the emotional devastation, we are facing immediate and overwhelming financial responsibilities including funeral and memorial expenses, as well as the daily costs of caring for four children she leaves behind. We are doing everything we can to keep their lives steady, safe, and filled with love but the weight of it all at once is more than I can manage alone.
