My name is Jose Ascencio Jr and I’m raising funds to help cover the funeral expenses for my father, Jose Ascencio, who passed away on October 2nd, 2025.

My dad fought a long and painful battle with liver cancer and cirrhosis. In his final days, his body went through more than anyone should ever have to endure. He suffered from two major internal bleeds that doctors could no longer stop because his body was too weak. Despite receiving over five blood transfusions, his condition continued to worsen.

Doctors had to use multiple medications, tubes, machines, and continuous support just to keep him alive because without them, his heart would have stopped. Even with all those efforts, his heart still stopped twice, and he had to be brought back both times with CPR.

Eventually, we had to face the hardest decision any family could to either keep him alive through more suffering or let him rest peacefully. With heavy hearts, we chose peace, knowing he had already fought with everything he had.

He leaves behind a beautiful wife, a son, and two daughters all of whom he was deeply proud of. He was a loving husband, father, and a man who always put his family first.

We’re now preparing for his funeral, planned for October 24th or 25th, and we want to give him the dignified and loving farewell he deserves one that reflects his strength, warmth, and love.

I know that $5,500 is still a lot to ask, but honestly, anything you can give no matter how small would mean the world to us. Every dollar helps us get closer to giving my dad the farewell he truly deserves. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page would be a huge help and deeply appreciated.
