Help Us Bring the Spirit of the Crow to Life
Donation protected
We're ready to summon the Crow into our camp. But we need some materials...
This is the MarchWardens fund for the Spirit of the Crow costume.
If I’ve overestimated anything, or in the event that I encounter a sale that results in cheaper supplies, any extra funds will be put back into the Crow costume in some way. Either by buying additional details, or put into the 2026 upgrades fund.
Head
Crow Mask- $185
Made by Crystumes Blanks on Bluesky
LED Eyes- $45
Made by SaltyPuppyStudios on Etsy
Body Fabric
Black Linen- $70
Linen makes up the base body of the Crow, giving me something to put all the feathers on.
Black Chiffon- $100
Light weight, opaque, and slightly shimmery, this makes up the majority of the feathers over the crow’s body.
Iridescent Chiffon- $60
Black mesh with multi-colored threads woven in that shimmer as the fabric is moved. These will make feathers mixed in with the pure black to give an other-worldly feel to the Crow.
Black Fur- $30
For the small down feathers around the Crow’s face and interwoven over the head and neck to blend.
Scaled Tights- $20
I’m using the costume-maker’s sneaky trick of using tights to make gloves. I couldn’t find fabric that would be better than scale patterned tights.
Additional Supplies
Plastic Whalebone- $15
I will be using this to make a sort of ‘hoop skirt’ for the back of my head, giving the head more of a larger, bird-like proportion to the rest of my body, and minimizing my shoulders.
Fishing Line- $10
This will be sewn into some decorative feathers to give a ghost-like appearance that will trail behind the Crow.
Possible: Black Foam Clay (300g)- $15
This is my backup if I don’t like the 3D printed horns and talons. If I don’t end up needing this, the funds will be diverted to extra details.
Oops Fund- $50
This is in case I miscalculated, made a mistake, am not happy with how something came out, or need supplies that I hadn’t thought of before. This costume is being made purely on queer audacity, there might be some oopses.
Any funds not used will be put towards trinkets to tie into the Crow’s feathers, buy extra details, or put into the 2026 upgrade fund.
Stretch Goals: 2026 Supplies
Feather Upgrade: $65
EVA Foam- $20
Will be cut into feathers to give the Crow full wings and a feathered tail.
Sleeve Upgrade- $20
Additional structure will need to be added to the sleeves in order to support the wing feathers.
Paint Fund- $25
To buy iridescent paints to give the feathers a color sheen and make the patterns on the beak/face pop.
Face Upgrade: $60
Black Foam Clay (500g)- $20
Will be used to upgrade the Crow’s face, giving me the ability to carve patterns into the beak/face.
Additional Eyes- $40
Two additional, smaller eyes, made by SaltyPuppyStudios on Etsy, to be placed under the primary eyes, giving a more eldritch appearance to the Crow.
