With a heavy heart, I, Andrea Watson-Smith, am the daughter-in-law and the wife of Marjorie Smith and Fabian Smith who reside in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. This money will help make necessary repairs after a devastating storm hit the island of Jamaica, with the eye of the storm hitting directly in Saint Elizabeth, where my mom and family are living.

We just got to hear from my mother, which today is her birthday, when she called. She said, "My daughter, I lost everything, but I did not lose my life." She’s such a faithful warrior. She’s such a religious person. Thankfully, everybody made it out safe, but we lost everything. There’s no roof on the home. We have an elderly grandmother that also resides there. Originally, her property turned over to my mother-in-law. Granny is in her 90s. Thank God everybody made it out safe.

We lost every livestock. This home has been the foundation of the Smith family, and we have so many heartfelt stories about this home. It’s heartbreaking to know that we lost the contents of the home, but that could be rebuilt. While we are so grateful to be safe, it’s just the emotions and the financial burden of starting over that is overwhelming. But I know that my friends and family and this community will be there to help us. Thank you very much, and we appreciate you all. One love.
