Help the Mongillo's in Mila's medical emergency

On December 12, 2023, our precious daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and great niece, 6-year-old Mila Rose Mongillo, Kelly and Anthony's daughter, and Pat and Larry's granddaughter developed a fever of 40°. They took her to hospital in Barrie, ON, where they sent her home, saying it was viral. On Wednesday morning, December 13, she was still extremely sick, they returned to Barrie hospital. After being admitted, they soon discovered that she had a Group A Strep infection, which had turned septic, putting her in septic shock. She was immediately transferred to Toronto Sick Kids; she was a very sick little girl. She has had multiple surgeries since then, trying to get the infection out of her little body. She will be at Sick Kids through Christmas; another surgery is scheduled for Christmas Eve. We know that it's a hard time financially for many, especially this time of year. Kelly and Anthony are, and will be off work for the foreseeable future, as they are at the hospital 24 hours a day, rotating shifts with her. She will need more surgeries, including plastic surgery, physiotherapy, and likely a long period of rehabilitation, when she is finally well enough to go home. It's been heartbreaking for all of us to see her tiny little body fight so hard to beat this.
