Help the Maws Recover Stolen Money for New Home

My husband, Drew, our daughter Olive (just turned 1 years old) and I moved to Colorado in October 2020 to be closer to our family. We finally found our dream home and put an offer in right away. Thankfully, our offer was accepted, and we were so excited to move into our new home. Last week (January 15, 2021), we had signed our closing papers, and were on our way to drop off our first load, when our title company called us and said that they had never received our money down. We had wired them $64,000 just days before and we received confirmation that it was received. We were dismayed and shocked to hear that we had become the victims of wire fraud. Somehow the bad guys had intercepted our closing information and impersonated our escrow agent. They sent us documentation that looked official, and from what we knew, we were talking to our title company the whole time. Unfortunately, we weren't, and we had wired all $64,000 to someone else. We were devastated.

We have been working tirelessly over the past week with all of our team, the FBI, the banks, anyone who could help us to try to recover this money, but we are still not sure if we will receive this money back at all or if we do, when it will come back to us. We have been told not to expect much from this process as wire fraud is very difficult to fight. We are days away from losing our dream home because we don't have the $64,000 to close on our home. We have to move out of our rental now and will be temporarily living with my parents until we figure out next steps for our family. This $64,000 and this dream home was an investment using most of our money. 

We have never been in this position before, and it's deeply emotional for us. We are fighting to partner with hope, and our faith that God is a God of miracles. We do not know why this happened, or what the outcome will be. There have been a few outrageously compassionate and generous strangers, who have encouraged us to start this GoFundMe, to offer up an opportunity for those that know our family or not to help us recover our stolen money in time to get into our new home. We aren't expecting anything from this, and we have never been the types to ask for help like this, but after praying, we felt like God wanted us to take a step in faith. We are beyond grateful for your support, whether it is financial or even your prayers. We know that God can move mountains.
