Help the MacDonald Family Recover
Donazione protetta
Hey everyone. My name is Jared MacDonald. My wife and I started our family almost 4 years ago now. Our oldest is about 3 and a half, and our youngest is 16 months. We started our own business right after Luke, our oldest, was born. These early years are most certainly the hardest. We have been incredibly blessed and done remarkably well.
The reason that I am making this GoFundMe is because an underinsured driver stands the chance to destroy all we have built. Now, I do not believe their intent that morning was to wreck into our truck and, in doing so, upend our lives; however, that is exactly what happened. We have been unable for more than a month now to complete our contracts. Thankfully, we have wonderful clients who are understanding, but the bank for the mortgage and for the vehicles, insurances, among every other one of life’s bills, well, they’re far less understanding. Not to mention, we are certainly amidst some of the more turbulent times in my lifetime.
It’s not easy for me to ask anyone for help. I’m just not sure what else to do. We have next to no options. But I digress, the simple fact is I have worked incredibly hard to put my family in the best position I could, to give our kids the best life I could. Worst part is we still do not have our truck back and it is likely 3 weeks or so before we will see it back. I have watched what little we had of a nest egg disappear. Anything helps (the 16-month-old eats more than an adult ) just trying to keep it light as the stress is overwhelming.
As mentioned my wife and I started this business about 3 years ago so that we could keep 1 parent home with our kids. So that my wife could leave corporate America where she was underappreciated.
The truth of the matter is, I never dreamt such a crazy scenario. Where I would park at a gas station in the morning and as I went to exit my truck someone would t-bone sideswipe me. I also never realized many states PA included have a $5,000 allowed minimum property damage on drivers. I’d imagine a large percentage of drivers on the road are under that coverage meaning if they hit you and you don’t have good insurance you may no longer have a vehicle at all.
We are thankful and Blessed to have good insurance that covers the repairs over their underinsured amount, but there are countless items our insurance does not cover in the event someone hits us and is underinsured, like our monthly bills, we are due with our first daughter in June which should be a joy filled moment in life but for me now (as amazing as it will be it will also be incredibly stressful knowing what we saved so I could be home to help my wife recover is long gone now in week 5 without our vehicle)
this could have happened to anyone I pray it never does but, it does. And now we are left trying to survive and pick up the pieces.
