The Jay family has always been known for their selfless love, generosity, and willingness to help others in their time of need. I can personally say that I've been a recipient of their kindness-and now it's our turn to rally around them.
On the evening of October 7th, Nicholas Jay climbed a tree to get a better view of the full moon - a moment of wonder that turned unexpectedly tragic. Nick fell approximately 20 feet and was rushed by ambulance. After a series of CT scans, doctors discovered a brain bleed , a fractured spine, and several broken ribs.
He is currently in the ICU as medical staff closely monitor the swelling in his brain. If it does not go down on it's own, surgery may be required. This is the beginning of a long and uncertain journey of healing for Nicholas.
His parents, Mike and Lori, haven't left his side since the accident. As a result, they are unable to work, and the family is facing unexpected expenses - medical bills, meals, and additional costs that comes along with a family member in critical care. Once he is able to return home, he will require care and support, most likely provided by his parents.
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden the Jays are facing during this difficult time. Whether you're able to contribute financially or provide gift cards for gas, groceries, or daily needs, every bit of support helps.
A Meal Train will be set up once the family is back home, though the timeline in still uncertain. In the meantime, please consider giving what you can and sharing this campaign with others who know and love this incredible family.
Please note: The family kindly asks that no food be brought to the hospital at this time. Visitors are also limited, as Nicholas needs as much rest and quiet as possible for healing
Thank you for standing with the Jays. Let's surround them with the same love and support they have so freely given to others.
