The Food Lady has some new projects for this summer!

The first big endeavor will be building a catio for the indoor cats. The catio will be on the patio in the backyard, so that the indoor cats and the outdoor cats can have a little more interaction. Then, when the time comes to bring someone indoors, they will already be acquainted with the indoor cats! And, the indoor cats won't freak out as much since they will already know the newcomer!

I have designed the catio and will build it myself from 4x4's, 2x4's, and fencing. I need to purchase shelving boards, screws, staples, and a cat door as well.

Since The Food Lady no longer has a vehicle, she wants to turn the garage into a cat sanctuary. I'm hopeful that after everyone is TNR'd, they will get along enough to share space in the garage. One wall leaks water onto the floor, so I am going to dig along that wall and place a water barrier that will hopefully stop the leaking. I also need to paint and do some general patching of holes. I may need to replace the gutters and the boards that the gutters attach to as well. We shall see as the summer progresses! Before winter, I may work on the heated beds. I will wait to see how everyone gets along before doing that.

In caring for the cats, I also need to purchase general supplies regularly. I go through cat litter for both indoor and outdoor cats, use cleaning supplies for both, and use urine cleaner all over the place as the outdoor males spray on everything and indoor cats make messes in the boxes.

It all adds up, and since I retired, I really appreciate your help with taking care of these cats! The Food Lady could not care for the cats like she does without your help!!
