Hi, my name is Jeffrey Fabian, I'm a film student from the Northwest Territories attending Film Production at Toronto Film School.

Jean Marie River is a small community in the Northwest Territories, part of the Deh Cho, and nestled next to the Mackenzie River.

During this spring breakup, Jean Marie experienced severe flooding, resulting in an emergency evacuation of the village. Many had no time to save important items and many lost everything to the flood, including photos, clothing, beds, food, and equipment necessary to survive in a small community like Jean Marie River.

Jean Marie River also has many at risk community members as well as Elderly who require assistance, with many of them making the long drive to Yellowknife for groceries, clean water, fuel, and clothing.

Jean Marie River, like many communities in the Northwest Territories, have limited access to clean drinking water, and infrastructure, with many houses relying on water delivery services, and exterior diesel tanks for heating.

This GoFundMe is primarily to ensure the community members have enough money to access important and essential items such as food, clean drinking water, and fresh clothing.
