On November 20, 2020 our lives changed forever. Ammon had a colonoscopy, after he was awake the GI doctor called me to have me come back into the hospital and discuss Ammon’s results. At this point my heart stopped and panic mode set in. As I’ve had enough surgeries and testing done. That when the doctor says he needs to discuss it in person it’s not typically a good sign. Once I was taken back to Ammon who was in recovery, the doctor then told Ammon and I that he has colon cancer. They took a biopsy of the mass. We were told told today that it is indeed cancer.
We have made the decision to head to Cancer Treatment Center of America. We will be traveling to and from Chicago to get Ammon’s treatments. I know there are cancer doctors around our area who are probably great at their job. We want the best of the best, top of the class, the doctors who are all in one location all on the same page working for the same outcome. Getting Ammon CANCER FREE! We do not know the stage, we know it’s in the sigmoid location of the colon. Due to the mass being large the GI doctor couldn’t perform the rest of the colonoscopy.
We will be leaving for Chicago next week. We will start the examination process first. By next Thursday December 3rd we should have almost if not all of our answers and testing done with results!! Prayers Jesus we won’t be waiting for weeks to months for these things. We will have Ammon’s treatment plan before we head home on Friday. During this time I simply just ask for prayers, prayers for Ammon, my kids who will be traveling to family members homes while we are away. For my self as I need the strength to remain strong for my family and my husband. Prayers for traveling, treatments, cancer free outcome!!
This is going to be the hardest fight his ever had to fight! He’s strong and I know he’ll beat this. We will come out stronger and better!
