Please Help the Brousseau Family Through Medical Crisis!

Recipients: Jason and Alyssa Brousseau

Hello! I am starting this page to ask for help for friends of mine- a wonderful family who would hate being a sob story or even asking for help but who truly will be needing it... they are going through the medical ringer and have ever increasing medical bills that are starting to come in with no end in sight. Donations will be used for medical bills and transportation, lessening the blow of being without a job, and for helping the family through the holiday season (especially for the girls!)

Summary:
Right now, with the impending removal of his left kidney and impending open heart surgery, Jason cannot work. He cannot lift anything over 30lbs. He needs his health insurance more than ever, so having a job and working is imperative. The family will be soon moving to a smaller home after thanksgiving to decrease monthly payments as they are living on only one income. The girls and Alyssa are loving the time with Jason home but the looming threat of moving costs, medical bills, and holidays approaching are stressful right now- and adding in the commute and expenses of driving to the Mayo and time off for Alyssa... This family needs our help!

Backstory:
Jason is a loving husband and father to 2 adorable girls who recently received some less than stellar health news after being in the ER. He was brought in to the ER on September 7th after feeling sick for 4-5 days. His urine was the color of miso soup- DARK brown. The ER ran numerous tests and an ultrasound was performed. Levels were slightly elevated but ultimately they were sent home.

On September 10th, his urine was still dark but now he was showing signs of jaundice in his eyes and skin. Alyssa was scared and Jason agreed to return to the ER. With the help of more blood tests, a couple CT scans and a few bags of fluid, results started coming back with findings of a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm, 18 enlarged nodules in his chest, and a mass on his kidney...and told to follow up in a month (?!?!)

With looking at mid November being the soonest that he could be seen here, they called Mayo to request appointments. They were able to get Jason in for everything within a few weeks. He met with urology and they explained their suspicions of cancer in the mass on his kidney and requested a biopsy. Jason had his first surgery for his biopsy on October 9th and news came back thelat there were pre-cancerous cells but no current cancer cells. They still want to remove the kidney to ensure that the mass is gone and that he remains healthy. He's scheduled to have his entire left kidney removed at Mayo December 8th- before Christmas.

Then, they also have to deal with his thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. He met with the cardiologist on October 22nd and found out the aneurysm is approximately 49.8mm. Jason will be having an MRI on November 7th at Mayo to focus on figuring out the true size again to see if it is within the surgical range. The surgery that Jason will need to have will most likely be open heart surgery to repair the aortic wall.

Right now, Jason cannot work. He cannot lift anything over 30lbs. He is struggling with this and the thought of potentially changing jobs so he can still work. The family will be soon moving to a smaller home after thanksgiving to decrease monthly expenses as they are living on only one income and have neverending medical bills currently. The girls and Alyssa are loving the time with Jason home but the looming threats of moving costs, medical bills, and holidays approaching are very real.

Please keep Jason and his family in your prayers- and if you can donate, this family needs community now more than ever as they struggle to navigate through this journey so I'm rallying for them. I want to thank each and every donor in advance- I promise you I wouldn't be posting if they didn't truly need it!!

With much gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Brousseau family-
