Our community is rallying around Terleah Gromball and her family after a devastating injury suffered while pursuing her football dream in England.

At just 18 years old, Terleah left Australia in August to join the SCFC UK International Full Time Academy and begin an exciting new chapter of her football journey. She was also playing with Shrewsbury Town Women, taking the opportunity to develop her game at a higher level and pursue her aspirations in the sport she loves.

Terleah has always been a dedicated and talented footballer. She represented South Australia through the NTC program and played WNPL football for Salisbury Inter and Adelaide University before making the brave decision to move overseas on her own to chase her dreams.

Tragically, during a recent match, Terleah suffered a serious injury, severely dislocating her femur from her knee and rupturing both her ACL and PCL. The injury was so serious that she required emergency surgery after doctors became concerned about the lack of blood flow to her leg.

While the initial surgery was successful, Terleah now faces at least two more surgeries to repair the extensive ligament damage, followed by a lengthy and challenging rehabilitation process.

Being 18 years old and facing multiple surgeries is difficult enough. Doing so on the other side of the world, thousands of kilometres from family, makes the situation even more overwhelming.

Terleah's mum, Tegan, urgently needs to travel to the UK to be by her daughter's side during surgery, recovery and rehabilitation. The unexpected costs of obtaining an emergency passport, booking last-minute international flights, accommodation and other travel expenses will place enormous financial pressure on the family.

Anyone who knows Jason and Tegan Gromball knows the sacrifices they have made over many years to support their children, Terleah and Dylan, in pursuing their sporting dreams. Countless hours on the road, registration fees, travel expenses and personal sacrifices have been made to give their children every opportunity to succeed.

Now, the Gromball family needs our support.
