Hello, I’m Tahira Rasul, Chairperson of the Tahira Animal Welfare Foundation (TAWF) — a registered charity (SC050204) dedicated to rescuing, treating, and sheltering injured, abused, and neglected street animals. We are the only hope for the street animals of Pakistan’s third-largest city, Faisalabad.
I’m raising funds on behalf of TAWF to support our daily rescue missions — providing lifesaving medical care, food, and safe shelter to hundreds of animals who have no one else to turn to.
This fundraiser is specifically to cover the running expenses for November 2025, helping us continue our rescue, feeding, and medical operations throughout one of the harshest months of the year. Every penny raised through this fundraiser goes directly to TAWF to help the dogs, cats, donkeys, horses, birds, and others — who depend on us for survival, treatment, and love.
Our Story
Every month, we rescue hundreds of injured, abused, abandoned, and broken souls — some hit by vehicles, some blinded, some too weak to even stand. They’ve known nothing but pain and neglect on the streets.
For them, the Tahira Animal Welfare Foundation (TAWF) is their first real chance at life. We are the only animal rescue and shelter in Pakistan’s third-largest city, and for hundreds of miles around, there is no other safe place for them to go.
These voiceless lives come to us in desperate conditions — mothers giving birth in drains, paralyzed dogs dragging their bodies on hot roads, donkeys collapsing from exhaustion, and tiny kittens trembling beside their dead mothers. Each one has suffered enough. We are their last hope.
❤️ Why We Need Monthly Support
Our shelter, home to over 300 animals at any given time, runs on compassion — but compassion alone cannot buy food, medicine, or keep the lights on. Every month, it costs around £6,300 to feed, treat, and care for all the animals who depend on us for survival.
Now, as Pakistan faces the harsh winter cold, our struggle has doubled. We need a constant supply of firewood and fuel to keep the shelter warm 24/7, especially for newborns, paralyzed, weak, and elderly animals who cannot survive the freezing nights.
Every single day, we wash and replace hundreds of warm beddings, dry them, and prepare new ones — because comfort and warmth are all these innocent souls have ever longed for.
Winter is always our most costly, most exhausting, and most heart-wrenching time of the year. Your support keeps the fires burning — literally saving lives from freezing in the dark.
Our Mission — Ending the Cycle of Misery
Our mission is not just rescue — it’s transformation. We are building Pakistan’s largest humane facility, the Second Chance Animal Hospital & Sanctuary, dedicated to:
- Mass sterilization to end the street animal overpopulation crisis
- Emergency medical care for critical rescues
- Lifelong sanctuary for blind, paralyzed, and elderly souls who have nowhere else to go
Sterilization, not culling, is the only humane way to stop this endless cycle of misery.
Without You, We Can’t Continue
Without your monthly help:
- We can’t buy food for the hundreds already in our care
- We can’t afford firewood to keep them warm through the night
- We can’t buy medicines or vaccines
- We can’t rescue the next one crying for help
Even £10 a month makes a real difference. Together, we can make sure that not a single animal goes hungry, cold, untreated, or forgotten.
Let’s Keep the Light of Compassion Burning
Let’s make sure the gates of our sanctuary never close.
Your support keeps them alive, safe, and loved — today, tomorrow, and every day after.
Every pound is warmth, hope, and life.
Meet the Souls You’re Helping
Jane and Lillie are both rescued souls. Jane, an elderly donkey who is completely blind, was saved in critical condition. Her wounds are healing slowly, and she’s finally learning what safety feels like. Lillie, a tiny 4–5-week-old baby, was rescued from over 400 km away after her mother was tragically hit and killed by a vehicle.
Mimmy is a gentle soul who was abandoned with her newborn kittens. Now safe with us, she’s a loving and devoted mother receiving the care she deserves.
Orphaned puppies — their mothers were killed in brutal dog cullings. These little ones survived, but their lives were also in danger on the roads. Now, they’re loved, fed, and finally safe with us.
Follow us to witness our daily rescues, recovery journeys, and the impact of compassion in action:
Together, let’s continue giving hope and second chances to those who need it most. ❤️
