Help Taryn and Ashton Overcome Health Battles

This has been a challenging year for my daughter, Taryn Plypick, and her family. Taryn has had 3 major surgeries in two years for 2 colon perforations. The last surgery was a life-saving miracle as her surgeon said he didn't think she would live. Ashton, her son, my grandson, was admitted Monday for emergency surgery due to an infection in his hip. He is on his 3rd day, at least one more day, plus possible further surgery and several months of recovery and rehab to walk without assistance.

Taryn is a middle school teacher for the Kent School District and coach for several sports. Ashton is a very active 10-year old who was looking forward to playing soccer this summer and fall.

Taryn has gone through her sick leave and shared leave and has medical expenses from her hospital admissions, plus Ashton's now. She has been off work since Monday and will not be able to return to work this school year and has no paid leave.
