Help Sylvia & Pete Rebuild After Texas Flood
Donation protected
On July 4th, my sister Sylvia and her husband Pete lost everything during the recent flooding in Texas. In just a matter of hours floodwaters caused severe damage to their property. They've lost all of their furniture, appliances, and essentials and are now trying to rebuild and find housing while caring for two toddlers, ages 2 and 3.
They did not have flood insurance, and the damage has made their home unlivable. They now face the urgent need to secure temporary housing while beginning the long process of rebuilding. They are currently staying in hotels and Airbnbs until they can repair their home.
Her husband, who owns a landscaping company, has lost nearly all of his work equipment in the flood. He has begun replacing some tools and supplies, but still needs help to fully recover what he needs (machines, tools, and materials) so he can return to work and support his family.
Despite everything they've lost, they're also stepping up to help other families in their community who were hit by this flood, some of whom can't even begin repairs.
With the support of the community and neighbors they have been working on other homes as well as feeding workers and cleaning up nearby homes.
Thankfully my mother's home was safe but this did hit my hometown of San Angelo, Texas and directly impacted Xaryah's younger sister's, who have also been adopted by my sister Sylvia and her husband Pete. Every donation, no matter how small will help my family during this time. Thank you!
