Help Sustain Magic Tournaments for All

Hello again everyone!

For those of you who don't know, I'm Dallas Walker. I've organized Magic: The Gathering tournaments spanning TWENTY YEARS (Jesus...), especially for Pauper format variants including FOUR previous Riches to Rags events. I've also been the Community Manager for Queen & Rook Game Tavern in Philadelphia for over 5 years.

Moving on, it's important to me to cultivate holistically sound, sustainable, accessible, & logistically clean opportunities for people to join in intellectual sport for their personal development. To this end, while I have done my best to blaze a trail operating the absolute lowest-cost, purest tournament experience possible, for my efforts after everything is said & done events operated by individuals simply do not make money.

As I refine my process, I need to be creative in how I use all available resources to offer the best experience, including how I reward players for being bold enough to challenge themselves in this competition. While intrinsic development *should* be sufficient, the reality is that we're part of a system that requires money to function, & competitors have sacrificed resources including job hours, travel & accommodations to attend from as far as over 1000 miles away. My goal is to leverage the community to reward people for their participation.

This fundraiser is directly for the purpose of supplementing the Prize Pool for the March 16th 2025 Riches to Rags tournament in Philadelphia PA. 100% of all of the proceeds from this will be added to the prizing offered so that I can ensure that I'm deliberately carving financial space for myself via ticketing/merchandising revenue. Without taking more concrete steps to pay myself, this event series will not be able to continue; "No Margin, No Mission", as they say. My goal for this fundraiser is to add enough funds to the pool to be able to extend prizing out to 5th-10th place & at least nullify the cost-of-entry for those players ($35/Person, $210 total + a small boost for 1st-4th). Anything beyond that will be split in a 2:1:1:1 ratio for the Top 4 performers to further incentivize excellence.
