Many of us know Tom Salzer as the dedicated Executive Director of the Washington Association of Conservation Districts (WACD) — a leader, mentor, and friend whose compassion and integrity have lifted so many across our conservation community. Now, Tom and his family need our support.

Since May 8th, Tom’s wife, Janis Salzer, has faced serious and ongoing health challenges, spending much of that time in and out of critical care. Despite Tom’s strength and steady optimism, this has been an incredibly difficult journey for both of them.

Unfortunately, the family’s health insurance has denied coverage for many of the essential treatments Janis needs, creating a growing financial burden at a time when their focus should be on healing and care.

Those who know Tom know that he would never ask for this kind of help himself. He is humble, selfless, and the first to step forward when others are in need. That’s exactly why we — his friends, colleagues, and community — are coming together to lift him up in return.
