Help Support Patsy Haney During Her Recovery

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Patsy Haney, the proud owner of The Big Dog in Ravenna, Ohio.

Patsy has lived in Ravenna her entire life and has owned The Big Dog for nearly 20 years. Over the years, she’s become a true fixture in our community—not just as a business owner, but as someone with a huge heart who’s always the first to lend a hand. She’s organized and hosted countless fundraisers for people, families, and even animals in need. Now, she’s the one who could use a little help.

Recently, doctors found a tumor in her brain that is unfortunately growing in size. Due to the location and how quickly it's developing, they’ve recommended urgent brain surgery which will happen in the next few weeks. While the doctors are optimistic and we’re hopeful for a full recovery, the road ahead won’t be easy.

Patsy will need time to heal—likely 6 to 8 weeks—which means The Big Dog will have to close temporarily or operate on very limited hours during her recovery. As many of you know, the bar is her livelihood, and closing it even temporarily is a big financial burden, especially on top of rising medical bills.

Many people have already reached out, asking how they can support Patsy during this difficult time. So we decided to start this GoFundMe to help cover her medical expenses and provide a cushion to get her through recovery while the bar is closed.

If you’ve ever had a drink, a laugh, or shared a story with Patsy at The Big Dog, you know just how much she cares. She doesn’t know we’re setting this up—but we believe it’s time we show her the same love and support she’s shown so many others.
