Help Support Our Granny’s Lifesaving Heart Surgery & Recover

On July 1st, our beloved Granny was admitted to United Regional after experiencing serious health concerns. Doctors quickly discovered a large pericardial effusion, a dangerous buildup of fluid around her heart. They were able to successfully drain 1.4 liters of fluid, giving her immediate relief.

However, her journey didn’t stop there.

Yesterday, during a cardiac angiogram, we learned that she has severe coronary artery disease, with multiple critical blockages ranging from 80% to 100%. Due to the extreme strain on her heart, the doctors had to insert an Impella support device, a mechanical pump that helps the heart continue to function while it’s so severely weakened.

Because of the seriousness of her condition, she was transferred today to Baylor Scott & White in Dallas for specialized care and will need open heart surgery. This is a high-risk procedure, especially given her age and the current weakness of her heart.

We are reaching out for help—not only with medical expenses, but also with the costs of travel and lodging while staying in Dallas and making trips back and forth to the hospital. These costs add up quickly, and any support, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference and allow us to focus on what matters most: Granny’s recovery.
