Help support Holy Trinity Church Longlevens after vandalism
After the wonderful outpouring of support from the local community after vandalism inside Holy Trinity Church Longlevens, vicar Rachel has been overwhelmed with offers from people wanting to help in some way. She is so very thankful and touched by this so has sought approval from her committee and would like to accept the kind suggestion to fundraise for CCTV to be installed at the church. This will make it safer for everybody and enable it to be opened again during the daytime which she feels is so important for the local community. The church is a prominent building in the heart of Longlevens and is there for all of us. For weddings, baptisms, funerals, Easter, Harvest, Remembrance and Christmas services and regular worship.
I have become a supporter of the church since last year as vicar Rachel conducted the funerals of my Mum, my god son who died very tragically, and his Mum who died shortly after him. Their funerals were so very important to me and they were conducted so perfectly. The church and the church community has also given me a space to process these great losses.
If you would also like to support the church we would be extremely grateful to you. We want to keep it open safely and we want it to be a place that you can all come in too at any time of the day to sit in quiet reflection, pray, light a candle for a loved one or request prayers to be said for someone. Of course you would also be very warmly welcomed if you want to attend any services. I can assure you of this.
Any donation of any amount would be very much appreciated. If there is money left over after installing CCTV this will go towards the expensive repairs to the roof in particular that were highlighted in an inspection earlier this year. Reverend Rachel has a clear vision and wants the church to be here for another 90 years after celebrating its 90th birthday in April. Thank you in anticipation for your support .
