Help Support Frank & His Family Against COVID-19

Donazione protetta

Hello everyone,

I created this Gofundme in order to try to help spread the word around in order to try to help my sister and the family with future bills and rent money. On May 12, 2020, my brother-in-law who is 54 years old was admitted into an Anaheim Hospital due to having symptoms of COVID-19. Being the head of the household, his job as a furniture mover is risking him having to go out to different states in order to provide for his family of 5. Being gone for 2 weeks, moving furniture he started getting signs of a cold while being up in Washington state and figured he would recover from. 3 days before coming home, he seemed to be feeling worse where he started having fevers and a hard time breathing, with loss of sleep, and no energy, he stated to my sister to take him to the hospital the day he came home to make sure he does not have Covid-19. As soon as they arrived, the nurse took his temperature and seen it was skyrocketing of over 104 degrees, and rushed him straight into the hospital, stating to my sister more likely he does have coronavirus and will be staying in the hospital for 1-2 weeks. The next day she received a call from a nurse, stating that he was positive for Covid-19 and his condition has gotten worse and that he was entered into the ICU to be heavily sedated for his lungs became 100% dependent on the ventilator. Being shocked by the news, she did not know what to do but wait to see how he gets since she is not able to see him or call him. Calling each day, she was stressing out to know things were getting worse. His body reacted to being put on the ventilator were it was affecting his heart and now needed heart medicine. His blood pressure was uncontrolled and was developing pneumonia due to having water building up in his lungs. Worst of all, was now both of his kidneys were failing and was going to need dialysis.

A week being in the hospital, not able to see or hear his voice, my sister was told from his nurses that his lungs are starting to get better and they were going to try to take him off the ventilator and wake him up to see how he and his body reacts, and go from there. As of today (May 19, 2020) she finally got to hear his voice, being super tired after having his dialysis completed, the conversation did not last longer than 5 minutes, but he was able to say that he loves all his kids, and he was happy to be able to eat his (3) applesauce. As of right now, the doctor’s main focus is to control his blood pressure, continue with dialysis to see if he can recover from his kidneys failing as it might possibly be a permanent thing, and possibly see if they can start him on his rehab tomorrow to get him to try to walk again depending on the situation.
