Help support Ethan's family during this difficult time.

My name is Caroline Scarcello and I’ve had the privilege of knowing this wonderful family for over six years and have worked closely with Ethan’s mom during that time. She’s an incredibly hard-working single mother of three who always puts her children first. Despite working full-time as a hair instructor and continuing to take on evening jobs to make ends meet, the weight of monthly bills, medical expenses, and everyday costs has become overwhelming.

This family means so much to those who know them, and right now, they could really use our help. Any donation—no matter the amount—will make a meaningful difference and help ease some of the financial burden during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support for a mom who truly gives her all every single day. Whether through donations, sharing his story, or simply offering encouragement. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps ease the burden and gives Ethan the opportunity to focus on what truly matters: his fight for life and moments of peace along the way

Ethan's Story: (Born on October 23rd 2006)

Ethan Galdiks’ story is one of remarkable courage, resilience, and perseverance in the face of unimaginable challenges.
In 2012, at five years old, Ethan was diagnosed with an astrocytoma tumor wrapped around his spinal cord. Because of its delicate location, the tumor was deemed inoperable—too risky
to remove without causing severe, irreversible damage. What followed was a long and difficult journey through countless hospital visits, treatments, and emotional battles.
Ethan spent much of his childhood at SickKids Hospital, undergoing 70 weeks of chemotherapy. The treatments managed to shrink the cancer cells but, unfortunately, could not remove them completely. Despite everything, Ethan faced each day with bravery and a positive
spirit, determined to live life as fully as possible.

After years of stability, tragedy struck again in May 2024. The cancer returned with a new diagnosis - B RAF mutation 600E located in the same spot —this time more aggressive and resilient cancer than before. Doctors discovered that the tumor had grown due to a
misdiagnosis in 2012, meaning Ethan had been fighting an even more complex form of the disease than originally believed. Since then, he has endured another year of chemotherapy, fighting to keep the tumor from progressing further.
However, the most recent updates have been heartbreaking. Despite ongoing treatments, the
tumor has continued to grow, leaving Ethan with increasing physical limitations. Tasks many of us take for granted—getting up in the morning, walking, or performing daily activities—have
become extremely difficult for him. The pain and fatigue caused by the tumor have also made it impossible for Ethan to work.
In an effort to find some sense of normalcy, Ethan attended Fanshawe College for a year. It gave him the opportunity to experience a part of life outside of hospitals and treatment rooms—a brief but meaningful period of hope and independence. Sadly, his worsening health
forced him to pause his studies as the cancer advanced once more.

After being re-diagnosed in May 2024, Ethan began another long and difficult round of chemotherapy. He has now been undergoing treatment for over a year, enduring the harsh physical and emotional toll that comes with it. Despite his commitment and determination, there have been no signs of improvement. The tumor has not responded to the treatments as doctors had hoped; instead, it has continued to grow, becoming more aggressive and increasingly resistant to medication.

This has left Ethan facing tremendous uncertainty. The ongoing chemotherapy causes exhaustion, nausea, pain, and weakness—yet he continues to fight, holding onto hope that new treatment options may one day make a difference. Each day presents a new challenge, but
Ethan’s courage and perseverance remain unwavering
Today, Ethan continues to face each day with strength, supported by his devoted mother, who serves as his sole caregiver and financial provider. The physical and emotional demands of his care have placed a tremendous financial strain on their family, as medical costs, travel, and
daily living expenses continue to grow.

Jennifer, Ethan's mother and beneficiary will be handling all funds donated and using them towards his medical bills and assist with any financial matters she needs help with, since Ethan is currently unable to work.

Ethan’s journey is not just a story of illness—it’s a story of determination, hope, and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her son. Despite every obstacle, Ethan continues to fight with courage that inspires everyone who knows him.
