Help Support Alicia's Ovary Surgery

I (Mikayla - On the right up there), am reaching with a heartfelt plea for my incredible partner, Alicia. She has been battling chronic endometriosis since July 2021, enduring excruciating pain, and managing her condition with incredible strength. Unfortunately, her journey has taken a turn, and she now faces a life-altering medical challenge.

Over the past few months, Alicia's pain has intensified, particularly on her right side near her ovary. Her suffering reached a peak when she dropped to the floor in pain on a Saturday morning, leading us to her most recent emergency room visit, where medical professionals struggled to provide an explanation for the severity of her pain. That Saturday morning while Alicia was in the hospital, I (Mikayla) scheduled an immediate appointment with her OBGYN, and the news she received on October 9th, 2023 was devastating.

Yesterday, Alicia was not only diagnosed with a large cyst on her ovary, but also an endometriosis mass. These two conditions have joined forces, creating an 8 cm problem on her ovary - causing her immense distress and agony. Her doctor has advised her that surgery to remove the right ovary is the best option for relief and recovery.

Here's where we really need your help and support. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Alicia's workplace recently lost insurance coverage, and we missed the window to apply for a "life-altering event" extension for her to be added onto my Select Health insurance. Short-term insurance is not an option due to the pre-existing nature of her condition, leaving her without insurance coverage for this critical surgery.

We are faced with a pretty hefty financial burden. The estimated cost of Alicia's surgery, follow-up care, prescription medications, and individual doctor bills will be estimated to at least $18,000. To our friends, family, TikTok/Instagram/Youtube followers who care deeply about Alicia's well-being, we are reaching out this community for support.
