Hello - My name is Jenny Spain and I am on the committee of Protect Catlett. We are a volunteer community organization dedicated to stopping the Catlett Data Center Project. We have been diligently working to educate the community about the proposed data centers and the harm they will bring to our community. This massive industry is continuing to grow extremely fast, requiring huge amounts of energy, land, and water to operate, resulting in widespread community impacts. Fauquier already has land in Remington Business Park and Vint Hill that is zoned for data centers. Protect Catlett does not support Headwaters’ quest to seek Fauquier County approval to re-zone 65 acres of land along Rt. 28
The learn more about the proposal and how to help stop the data center rush into Fauquier County, please go to www.protectcatlett.org. Committee members are working to design, print and distribute postcards to be sent to every household in Catlett. The postcard will let everyone know when the Board of Supervisors (BOS) will be voting on the land use change that must happen in order for the data centers to be built in Catlett. We want to make sure every citizen has a chance to let the BOS know that we do not want to become another Prince William County with massive data centers on every corner! Vote NO to data centers in Catlett!
Committee members have been funding the banners, yard signs and printings associated with the effort to stop data centers in Catlett. We now need to raise $1,000 to produce and mail the 1,500 postcards needed to communicate with every citizen in Catlett. Please support your community with any amount you can to help us save the beautiful and historic Village of Catlett!
