Howdy friends and neighbors!
My name is Joseph Goforth. I write songs and play the banjo. I am excited to announce that I am well underway with the production of my first solo album of original songs under the working title: Goforth - In The Face of Fear
The last time I took part in a recording project I was playing with a group called The Bucky Walters, a bluegrass band based out of Arcata, California. During my time playing with "The Buckys", I got a taste what it's like to be a working musician. That group disbanded when a founding member, Bryan Osper passed away. I walked through some dark times after that.
I've been on a healing journey and this album is the story of the changes I've experienced over the past seven years. It's about redemption and metamorphosis. Bryan was one of the most dedicated musicians I've ever known. He's still a major influence in my life and this project is dedicated to him.
For the past year I've been living in Port Townsend, Washington, where I've had the honor and pleasure of becoming friends with Danny Barnes, a songwriter and banjo player that I've looked up to for years. Danny has been helping me get this project off the ground. It's been a dream come true to work with him and to have his support and encouragement. I'm confident that this thing is going to sound really good!
These songs mean a lot to me and the time has come to offer them to the world. The songs are written, the studio time is booked and paid for, what I need is some help with the last push to deliver this baby! By pre-ordering the digital recording you will be contributing to the production costs. There are some fun rewards in addition to that like CDs, stickers and banjo lessons.
The sooner I reach my goal, the sooner it will be available to you! I would love to have it ready for a summer tour.
Thank you for your support and for being a part of bringing this dream to life! I will touch base soon with updates
With love and gratitude,
-Joseph
