Help Skylar Fight Stage IIIC Breast Cancer — A Young Mom of 4 Needs Us
Hi, my name is Mandi Johnson, and I’m Skylar’s older cousin—but honestly, I’ve always felt more like an aunt. I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with her as a child, and it has been a privilege to watch her and her 6 siblings grow up.

Skylar was always so tiny. I’ll never forget the day she started walking at just 10 months old—she looked like a little doll wobbling around. Even now, she’s still a little bitty thing, well under five feet tall, but don’t let her size fool you. She has the biggest heart and the brightest smile. When she walks into a room, you feel it. She just radiates warmth and joy. I mean, look at that smile and those dimples!!

In 29 years, I’ve never once heard a bad word about Skylar. She’s never caused trouble, never hurt anyone—she’s just good, through and through. She’s a wonderful wife, a caring daughter, an amazing mother to four beautiful kids, a loving sister, and someone who’s always put everyone else before herself.

But right now, Skylar needs us more than ever.

Skylar’s Diagnosis
Skylar has been diagnosed with Stage IIIC triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive and fast-moving forms of breast cancer. A large tumor was found in her right breast, and it’s already spread to multiple lymph nodes in her chest and under her arm. Even more concerning, there are now suspicious masses in her left breast as well.

She is under the care of the incredible oncology team at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where she has already endured an exhausting amount of invasive testing—MRIs, biopsies, ultrasounds, and more. Tomorrow, July 2nd, 2025, she will have her port placed for chemotherapy, and the treatment journey will soon begin in full force.

While we are still waiting on the results of her genetic testing, we have strong reason to believe she carries the BRCA1 mutation, which dramatically increases her risk for other cancers, including ovarian, pancreatic, and melanoma.
Skylar is also one of four sisters and 2 daughters. If the mutation is confirmed, her diagnosis won’t just affect her—it will mean all of her sisters and daughters will also need to undergo genetic testing, which can be expensive and emotionally overwhelming.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Skylar has four young children who need their mom. She has a husband who wants to grow old with the love of his life. And a family who loves her beyond belief! As she begins this long and difficult battle, we are doing everything we can to give her the strength and support she needs.

We’re raising funds to help cover:
• Medical expenses not covered by insurance
• Childcare and support for her kids during treatment
• Travel, time off work for Skylar and her husband, and recovery costs
• Genetic testing and follow-up care for her and her sisters
• Any unexpected costs that come with this fight

How You Can Help
If you’ve met Skylar, you already know how special she is. And if you haven’t—please take my word for it. She’s pure light.
Anything you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer—will make a difference. This isn’t just about medical bills. It’s about giving a young mom the chance to see her children grow up. It’s about helping someone who has never asked for anything finally receive the support she deserves.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of Skylar’s village.

With love, Mandi Johnson
