Help Shelby & Marcus Represent Team USA on the Road to the Olympics in Los Angeles 2028

Hi everyone! We’re Shelby and Marcus, proud Team USA discus throwers who recently qualified for the World Track & Field Championships in Tokyo! It’s been a long road of hard work, sacrifice, and passion to get here, and we’re just getting started.

As we set our sights on the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, we’re reaching out for support to help make our Olympic dream a reality.

We’ve recently relocated to Lubbock, Texas, where we live, train, and work. Both of us are proud to now be part of the local healthcare community. Marcus is working at University Medical Center (UMC) as an analyst on a major project to implement the EPIC electronic health record system. This role is especially meaningful to him, UMC has felt like home since he first had foot surgery there, followed by physical rehab at the UMC Health and Wellness Center. Now, being able to give back and help improve the patient experience through his work is something he takes great pride in.

Shelby recently began working at Covenant Health, the other major hospital in Lubbock, as a fitness specialist. Her passion for health and wellness makes this role a perfect fit, and she loves being able to help others lead healthier, more active lives while continuing to train at an elite level.

Over the next three years, our focus will be on building stability, balancing our day jobs in healthcare with a disciplined, high-level training regimen. We know that to compete with the best in the world, we need consistency, structure, and support both on and off the field. Our goal is to create a sustainable foundation that allows us to perform at our highest potential while proudly representing Team USA and the U.S. Track & Field program every step of the way toward Los Angeles 2028.
