I am a pediatrician in the United States helping raise funds for a friend in Gaza - here is her story in her own words:

“I am Shahd. I am 20 years old. I am studying for a second year at the university, majoring in programming and design. I have no future left. My university has been destroyed and my dream of becoming a well-known programmer has been destroyed. I am the eldest of my family and I support them - my four sisters, one brother, my mother and my father. The tent is too small for us, unfortunately. We have no income, and we suffer a lot when buying life necessities. We are not well, our situation is very difficult, bombing everywhere, lack of food due to high prices, we live in a very hot tent, we are slowly dying. My father is a neurological patient and cannot afford his treatment, due to its high price. I hope you can help.”
