Hey beautiful people,
So I am putting my pride aside and coming to the people because it’s been a long time coming and I feel like it’s time I really start taking my life serious and doing all the things I promised myself at the beginning of this year and take my transition to the next level and as much help as I’ve given myself I’m reach out to y’all because this journey has been harder than ever.
Last year April, I had been assigned to a gender affirming clinic and they had been giving me my hormonal therapy and also they gave me a list of surgery doctors to choose from but that was only for the gender reassignment surgery. Earlier this year I had found out from my gender clinic they they had cut all the funding towards surgery for transgender women which is completely unfair because trans men can get every surgery they want for free on the NHS so that set me back like crazy.
I also wanted my surgery to be as natural as possible so I continued to take my hormones so it could allow me to be eligible for any form of surgery as instructed by my doctor so after speaking to him a week ago he told me I’m ready to get the surgery I want.
I had been looking for alternatives and I found that I could possibly migrate to Amsterdam but even then, the surgery is free but they put you on a waiting list which can take years before you get accepted and if I’m honest I don’t have years. Then I also found that I could move to New York but without a visa and a citizenship all that is clipped. It’s hard enough as it is dealing with gender dysphoria but also dealing with the fact that it feels so close but so far… it’s not the best headspace to be in all the time.
One thing I don’t like doing is asking for help but sometimes it’s more than just me. I can’t do everything by myself and it’s taken me a while to realise this because trust me if I could do everything I would.
All is accepted and appreciated as every little helps and I am highly grateful for each and every individual that can help.
